The Young Theatre has a long history of successes at the local festivals. These festivals act as the first round for The All British One Act Play Festival and The All British Winners Festival.

In 2004 Mark Oldknow’s production of “Ball Boys” won the All British One Act Play Festival. The first youth group in the history of the competition to do so.

In 2010 the group won the Kenton Festival with “One For the Road” and the Senior Youth with “The Cagebirds”. Acting honours on both classes went to Mark Oldknow and Lucy Kelley-Patterson respectively.

In 2011 The Young Theatre is pleased to add Didcot Festival to its tour. The plays will be announced shortly.
